No respite for Gianni Infantino. The FIFA president continued his tour of the African continent at the same pace on Thursday, February 18th, with a one-day stopover in Bangui, the capital of the Central African Republic. On the program, the inevitable meeting with the head of state, Faustin-Archange Touadéra in the case of the Central African Republic, the no less usual presentation of a national decoration. And, as a bonus, the presentation of an innovative project involving the Central African Football Federation (RCA), the French Football Federation (FFF), and FIFA. It provides technical support from the FFF for the training of coaches, support for young players, the detection of new talents and the development of women’s practice. All of this is funded by FIFA as part of its FIFA Forward program. Gianni Infantino’s visit to Bangui came at a historic moment for Central African football, with the first participation of a national team in a continental competition, the Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations, currently played in Mauritania.
