ICF takes its pick in China

Thomas Konietzko, the president of the International Canoe Federation (ICF), will not regret his recent trip to China. The German leader brought back three new partnership contracts. They are supposed to reinforce the presence of the discipline in China, and beyond in all of Asia. The three agreements, all signed for two years, cover marketing, licensing and broadcasting. The first of the lot was concluded with the company Nantong Tieren Sports Goods. In addition to financial support, it provides the ICF with canoeing and kayaking equipment, including a set of “Ironman” ergometric machines. The partnership with the China Media Group covers the audiovisual rights for China for all events on the international calendar, in both Olympic and non-Olympic disciplines, including the World Championships and Olympic qualifying events. Finally, a licensing agreement was signed by the ICF with the Hangzhou Kayford Branding Company. It will allow the Chinese company to produce and market official clothing and products.
