Green light for Courchevel Méribel 2023

The lights are on for the 2023 Alpine World Ski Championships in Courchevel and Meribel (France), scheduled for February 6 to 19. Twelve days before the opening, a snow check was carried out on Wednesday 25 January by an expert from the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS), former Italian skier Alberto Senigagliesi. The inspection was carried out on the Eclipse slope in Courchevel, the site of the men’s races, and on the Roc de Fer slope in Méribel, where the women’s races will be held. Perrine Pelen, general manager of the organizing committee, commented: “Thanks to the return of the cold weather and the recent snowfalls, as well as to the custom-made work of all the active forces of the resorts and the organizing committee, we are approaching the final stretch with serenity.” The first event of the competitions, the women’s combined, is scheduled to be held on the morning of February 6 in Meribel. It will be followed in the early evening by the opening ceremony in Courchevel.
