General Assembly moved from Seoul to Athens

It’s about time. The Executive Council of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) held in Tokyo its first meeting in person since January 2020 at the beginning of the week. Among the topics on the agenda, the launch of the call for bids at the end of the Tokyo Games to host the World Beach Games in 2023 and 2025. According to an ANOC press release, several National Olympic Committees have already expressed an interest in organizing one or two of these editions. The Executive Council also decided to move the next General Assembly of the body. Initially scheduled for the end of the year in Seoul, it will not be held in the South Korean capital because of restrictions imposed by the country’s authorities. The ANOC General Assembly has been moved to Athens. It will be held on October 24th and 25th, 2021.
