And so it begins. With just over two months to go, ticketing for the Youth Winter Games in Gangwon, South Korea (January 19 to February 1, 2024), opened on Saturday, November 11. Available on a single platform, tickets.gangwon2024.org, tickets are free for all events, with the exception of the opening ceremony, on Friday January 19 at the Gangneung speed oval. For this opening night, tickets are priced from KRW 30,000 to KRW 100,000, or $22 to $74 at the current rate. As a reminder, the 2024 Winter YOG competitions will take place at four venues inherited from the 2018 PyeongChang Games: Gangneung (ice sports), PyeongChang (Nordic disciplines and bobsleigh/luge/skeleton), Jeongseon High 1 (alpine skiing and dual moguls), and Hoengseong (other freestyle skiing and snowboarding events). Tickets for the sporting events are free, but must be booked online. The Gangwon 2024 YOG is expected to bring together around 1,900 athletes representing 81 National Olympic Committees.
