France Télévisions does double duty

The information was revealed by the media outlet Le Parisien: the public broadcasting group France Télévisions has won the broadcasting rights for the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games (28 August to 8 September). Unlike the Olympic Games, the rights to the Paralympic Games were not marketed by the American group Discovery, which owns the Eurosport channel, but directly by the organising committee. A call for tenders was launched last October. In addition to the rights to the Paralympic Games, it provided for the French team to be accompanied by a series of reports and magazines before the event. France Télévisions took the cake, as it did for the rights to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The amount of the contract has not been revealed, but it was signed on Monday 17 January at the OCOG headquarters in Saint-Denis. According to Le Parisien, the broadcasting group will provide 24-hour coverage, including around 300 hours of live coverage on France 2 or France 3. The coverage will be enhanced by summaries, reruns and talk shows.
