Forty-two countries involved

With less than a year to go before the event, participation in the 2022 Games of La Francophonie in Kinshasa (DRC) looks like it will be lower than in the last edition, organised in 2017 in Côte d’Ivoire. Forty-two countries have committed to participate in the sports and cultural competitions, scheduled for August 19th-28th, 2022. Five years ago, 48 countries sent a delegation to Abidjan. Among the participants in the 2022 edition in the Democratic Republic of Congo, 37 have validated their pre-registration. National cultural pre-selections have already begun in several countries. The 2022 Games of La Francophonie, initially planned for this year but postponed because of the pandemic, will bring together nine sports and 11 cultural disciplines.
