FIFA+ has made its first big move. The world football body’s new streaming platform, which was officially launched on 12 April, is broadcasting the Women’s Under-20 World Cup, which will be held from 10 to 28 August in Costa Rica. The tournament is being broadcast in 114 countries, including Germany, Brazil, Ghana and Nigeria, who are among the favourites for the competition, but also some of the bastions of women’s football such as England and Sweden. In addition to broadcasting the matches, FIFA+ will also offer exclusive news, interviews and analysis related to the competition. FIFA+ is available in 11 different languages. Since its launch, the platform has also offered archives of all the men’s and women’s World Cup matches, thousands of live matches each year, interactive games, as well as original programmes (documentaries, docu-series, talk shows and short films).
