A major boost for 3×3 basketball. The new Olympic discipline, which made its debut at the Tokyo 2020 Games, will now be broadcast in almost a dozen European countries thanks to a partnership agreement signed between FIBA and Eurovision Sport. The two-year agreement covers the World Cup (May 30 to June 4 in Vienna, Austria) and the World Tour Finals in 2023 (December 9 and 10 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia), followed by the two European Cups and three Olympic qualifying tournaments in 2024. Under the agreement, 3×3 basketball events will be broadcast live in Belgium (RTBF and VRT), Greece (ERT), Hungary (MTVA), Lithuania (LRT), the Netherlands (NOS), Poland (TVP), Spain (RTVE), and Switzerland (SRG-SSR). The contract could be extended to other EBU member national channels if their national teams qualify for a competition covered by the audiovisual partnership.
