The IBA remains loyal to the Persian Gulf and extends its lease with the United Arab Emirates. The body chaired by Russian Umar Kremlev has announced that its annual congress for 2023 will take place on December 9 in Dubai. It will be organized in a hybrid face-to-face and remote format, and will coincide with two of the IBA’s other annual highlights, the Global Boxing Forum and the Night of Champions. Last year, all three events were held in Abu Dhabi. The 2023 IBA Ordinary Congress will not be elective, but it will be marked by the appointment of a new board member, a woman from the American Boxing Confederation (AMBC).
