DRC bidding for the 2027 edition

The legacy of the 2023 Games of La Francophonie in Kinshasa is not long in coming in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). At the very end of last week, the country’s sporting authorities officially submitted a bid to host the 14th African Games. They are due to take place in 2027. Since the conclusion of the 2023 Jeux de la Francophonie, the DRC has already secured another continental event, the Women’s African Cup of Nations handball tournament. The tournament is scheduled for December 2024. The 13th edition of the African Games is due to be held next year in Accra, the capital of Ghana. It has been postponed for a year due to the country’s economic situation and delays in preparations.
