Doctors will be in great numbers

That’s reassuring news for the organizers of the Tokyo Games: they will not be short-staffed in their care centers. No less than 395 people have applied for the 200 sports doctors positions needed to work voluntarily during the Olympic and Paralympic Games. This figure was communicated Monday, May 17th, by the organizing committee. The future volunteers will be deployed in the athletes’ village and on competition sites. Some of them could even be designated as team doctors for delegations which made the trip to Tokyo without any medical staff. The organizers of the Games explain that they have closed the application process, but they maintain the possibility to keep all applicants, even if their number turns out to be twice as high as the initial number needed.
