Denmark saves the day

Parenthesis closed. Ten days before the opening of the Women’s Euro 2020 (December 3 to 20), Denmark removed a serious thorn from the side of the European Handball Federation (EHF) by agreeing to host the entire tournament. The matches will be played in Herning, a long-planned venue, and in the town of Kolding. As a reminder, the Women’s Euro 2020 was to take place in Norway and Denmark, but the Norwegian authorities announced last week that they were giving up their meetings due to the health crisis. Once threatened, the competition was saved by Denmark, whose organising committee was able within days to review its plans, shake up its logistics and double its hosting capacity. The finals, initially scheduled in Norway, will be played in full in Herning.
