No unpleasant surprises for David Lappartient. After being elected President of the French Olympic Committee (CNOSF) on June 29 by the Board of Directors, the Breton executive was confirmed on Wednesday September 13 by the body’s General Assembly. With a clear majority of 95.73%, David Lappartient will continue his mandate until spring 2025. “I will continue to devote myself, as I have since June 29, to bringing people together and supporting our common project, he explained to the general meeting. We need to be able to count on a team, a united sports movement, just a few months away from the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.” Unlike Brigitte Henriques, who was elected in June 2021 but resigned two years later, Davis Lappartient will not be a paid president. He will only receive compensation. Another item on the AGM agenda is the election of a new member to the Board of Directors, a position that has been vacant since the resignation of Brigitte Henriques. Lise Legrand, Vice-President of the French Wrestling Federation, Olympic medallist and two-time world champion, was preferred to Stéphane Nomis, President of the French Judo Federation. With 507 votes, i.e. 55.96% of the vote, she becomes a director of the CNOSF.
