China to open circuit

No time to lose. Less than two weeks after the end of the 2023 edition, which ended with a two-day final in Eugene, Oregon (USA), World Athletics has unveiled the 2024 Diamond League calendar. It includes 14 one-day meetings, plus a two-day final scheduled for the very end of the circuit in Brussels. The big news is that the 2024 vintage will kick off in April with two successive meetings in China. In Xiamen on April 20, then in Shanghai a week later. These will be followed by the more usual stages in Doha, Rabat and Eugene, before the first two European meetings in Oslo on May 30 and Stockholm on June 2. July promises to be a busy month, with three successive meetings before the Olympic Games, in Paris (7th), Monaco (12th) and finally London (20th). After a long Olympic break, the Diamond League resumes in Lausanne (August 22), then Silesia (25), Rome (29), and finally Zurich (September 5). The final will be held in Brussels on September 13 and 14. The Belgian capital has not hosted the final since the 2019 edition.
