Chengdu 2023 will have its young reporters

A habit. Like the last winter edition, organized earlier this year in Lake Placid (USA), the 2023 World University Games in Chengdu, China (July 28 to August 8), will have their contingent of young reporters. They will be selected by the International University Sports Federation (FISU), the International Sports Press Association (ISPA), and the local organizers. Seven international candidates will be selected by FISU and AIPS, while the organizing committee will select 12 young Chinese reporters. The international candidates selected in the selection process will be supervised by two “high level mentors” who will assign them their daily tasks. During the first week of the Games, they will also attend morning lectures by media professionals. Once the event begins, their work will be heavily geared toward digital media, with their stories published on FISU.tv, fisu.net and the social media platforms – Facebook, Instagram, TikTok – of the international university sports body. Clarification: the young reporters program follows a gender equality policy, selecting the same number of women and men for this edition. Deadline to apply: April 14, 2023. Applicants must be available between July 23 and August 9, 2023.
