After rowing earlier this month, the Vaires-sur-Marne Olympic venue is hosting its second test event ahead of the Paris 2024 Games this week. This time, it’s dedicated to canoe-kayak racing, in both Olympic and Paralympic formats. Unsurprisingly, the competition organized from Wednesday August 30 (to Friday September 1) will be packed with the world’s top specialists. The International Canoe Federation (ICF) has done its sums: only four of the sprint world champions recently crowned in Duisburg did not make the trip to Vaires-sur-Marne for this stage of the World Cup. In the para-canoe events, only two gold medallists from the 2023 World Championships will be missing. In several races on the program, reduced to Olympic and Paralympic events only, all the medallists from Duisburg will be at the start. The next test event of the Paris 2024 Games – excluding the so-called operational tests – will take place on September 24. It will be an international mountain bike competition, the first to be held on the hill of Elancourt, in the Yvelines region.
