Two months and a few handfuls of hours before the opening of the Jeux de la Francophonie 2023 in Kinshasa (July 28-August 6), visits to the DRC are intensifying. Local media have been reporting on the presence of a Canadian delegation since mid-week. Representatives from Canada’s federal government, Quebec and New Brunswick made the trip to Kinshasa to inspect infrastructure, sports and cultural venues, and prepare for the arrival of their teams in less than eight weeks’ time. The three-day visit ends this Friday, May 26. At the Jeux de la Francophonie 2023, Canada will be represented by three delegations, flying the colors of the federal government, Quebec and New Brunswick respectively, all three governments being members of the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF).
