Brigitte Henriques filed a complaint

The crisis at the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF) has just had a new episode. It was hardly expected. AFP reports that its president, Brigitte Henriques, has filed a complaint for “psychological violence” against Didier Séminet, the former secretary general of the body, who was dismissed last month. Until now, the case was only internal, but now it is also judicial.  In her complaint, filed shortly after mid-September, Brigitte Henriques describes the altercations or exchanges with her former secretary general. Among them, a discussion on the way back from the Beijing 2022 Winter Games, where Didier Séminet “addressed me violently by threatening me”. She explained that she was “shocked, impacted both physically and morally, both in terms of content and form, by these attacks on the first woman president of the CNOSF“. When asked, Brigitte Henriques replied briefly on Monday 3 October: “I won’t comment. I have indeed lodged a complaint, but I will now leave it to the courts to do their job.” The former vice-president of the French Football Federation (FFF) was not at her office at the National Olympic Committee at the beginning of the week. She is on sick leave because of this situation. For his part, Didier Séminet explained that he had discovered in the press the existence of a complaint against him. He said he was “stunned“: “This is something she never told me about. It was not part of the grievances she had told me about. His lawyer suggested that he might in turn take the matter to court. “Mr Didier Séminet strongly denies these allegations, which are clearly tantamount to slanderous denunciation, or even public defamation,” he explained in a statement. “Mr Didier Séminet therefore reserves the right to take any action he deems appropriate.” A CNOSF board meeting is scheduled for 12 October. It promises to be stormy.
