Boxing has its currency

The Olympic future of boxing is written in the conditional, but the noble art will be very well represented at the Paris 2024 Games. The Monnaie de Paris has announced that its 2023 collection includes a new series of coins commemorating the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games. It features the Sower practising pugilism, the ancestor of boxing, against the backdrop of the Pont Neuf, the oldest stone bridge in the French capital. The coins are also illustrated with the common logo of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Paris 2024 collection includes two coins, one €10 in silver (pictured above), the other €250 in gold. The design is also featured on €2 coins, available only in Belle Epreuve and Brillant Universel versions. The Paris 2024 collections of the Monnaie de Paris were launched in 2021, for a period of four years.
