Good news for the International Committee of the Games of La Francophonie (CIJF): a second country has expressed its wish to host the next edition of the sports and cultural event. Benin has announced its candidacy for the Games in 2027, through the voice of the Secretary General of the Permanent National Commission of La Francophonie, Paulin Dohon Agbetokpanhoun. A deadline of 30 September was set for the announcement of bids. But Benin did not want to wait, unveiling its intentions at the end of last week. The decision was reportedly taken by Benin’s head of state, Patrice Talon. Another country, Armenia, has also expressed its wish to host the tenth edition of the Games of La Francophonie in 2027.
