Beach volleyball wants to take root in Qatar. Volleyball World, the commercial arm of the international federation (FIVB), has announced a partnership agreement with the Qatari Volleyball Federation. Signed for a period of three years, it provides for the organisation of the next three editions of the Beach Pro Tour finals in Doha. The first of the series will take place at Aspire Park from 26 to 29 January 2023. The top eight pairs in the world rankings after the final stage of the Elite16 Tour, scheduled for 29 November to 3 December in Torquay, Australia, will be guaranteed a place in the Beach Pro Tour Finals. The last two places will be distributed by invitation. The winners of the finals will receive a cheque for $150,000, bringing the total prize fund to $800,000.
