World Athletics has come up with an original way to celebrate Earth Day on Saturday, April 22. The world body of athletics gave the floor to athletes from all over the world. Twenty of them, from 13 countries and the refugee team, participated in the making of a three-minute video dedicated to saving the planet. It is accessible since Thursday, April 20 on the social networks of World Athletics. The chosen athletes, mostly women, deliver a personal message asking the general public and athletes to act to fight against climate change. World Athletics conducted a large-scale opinion survey last year among competitors at its four world championships. The survey found that 76% of athletes were extremely or very concerned about climate change. An overwhelming majority (90%) suggested that World Athletics has a role to play in building a more sustainable future.Athletes speak out
