Asia gets two countries back

WADA-AMA

During the Winter Games, work continues in the world of anti-doping. The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) announced that it had removed two Asian countries, Indonesia and Thailand, from the list of non-compliant signatories to the World Anti-Doping Code. The Indonesian and Thai national anti-doping organisations were declared non-compliant by WADA’s Executive Committee on 14 September 2021. They were removed from the lists less than a month later, with immediate effect. They have now been reinstated. In the case of Indonesia, the non-compliance was related to shortcomings in the implementation of an effective control programme. In the case of Thailand, the non-compliance related to the incomplete implementation of the 2021 version of the Code in its legal system. Both National Anti-Doping Agencies have fulfilled their obligations and have been removed from the list of non-compliant Signatories. There are currently two remaining non-compliant Code signatories: North Korea and Russia.
