
It’s now official: Armenia is a candidate to host the Games of La Francophonie in 2027. Deputy Foreign Minister Vahe Gevorgyan made the announcement during his speech at the 44th Ministerial Conference of the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) in Yaoundé, Cameroon (November 4-5). In his speech, Vahe Gevorgyan emphasized Armenia’s commitment to the values of the OIF, including the promotion and strengthening of peace, and the protection of human rights. The next edition of the Games of La Francophonie is likely to be decided between Armenia and Benin, the other declared candidate to host the sporting and cultural event in 2027.
