An Indian as vice-president

Meeting this past weekend in New Delhi, on the sidelines of the Women’s Worlds, the International Boxing Federation (IBA) Board of Directors decided to award the city of Poreč, Croatia, the organisation of the World Youth Boxing Championships in 2024. This year, the World Juniors (15-16 years old) will be held in Mexico. During the same board meeting, the international body also strengthened its governance by appointing the current president of the Indian Boxing Federation, Ajay Singh (pictured above), as IBA vice president. The Indian leader, who is also chairman and managing director of the airline SpiceJet, is already vice-president of the Indian Olympic Committee.
