An exodus to Florida

FIFA

The start of an American exile? With the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the USA, Mexico and Canada less than three years away, FIFA is turning its attention to Florida. Citing a source close to the matter, AFP reports that the governing body has taken the decision to move more than a hundred of its staff from its headquarters in Zurich to its new permanent office in Miami. The move would involve the legal department in particular. FIFA, which has been based in Zurich since 1932, has already transferred a number of posts from its Paris headquarters to Miami. It also has a new continental office in Singapore. But its spokesperson made it clear: the head office will remain in Zurich.
