The world’s beach volleyball elite are heading for Oceania. On Monday October 16, the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) announced that the world championships would be held in the Australian city of Adelaide in 2025. The announcement came after the conclusion of the 2023 World Championships, held in Tlaxcala, Mexico. The competition will be held at the Drive, a vast outdoor multisport complex, which will be transformed for the occasion into a beach in the heart of the city. Australia, one of the discipline’s major countries and a natural choice for its global event, has never before hosted the world championships.
