Abu Dhabi offers itself the Worlds

Mixed martial arts (MMA) have just found a new home: the United Arab Emirates. The international authority of the discipline (IMMAF) announced to have relocated, and postponed by a few months, the next edition of the world championships. Initially planned this year in Kazakhstan, but cancelled because of the pandemic, it will finally be held at the beginning of next year in Abu Dhabi (24 to 29 January 2022). Open to seniors and juniors, the competition will be held at the Jiu-Jitsu Arena in Zayed Sports City. The last edition of the world event stamped IMMAF, held in 2019 before the beginning of the health crisis, had gathered about 450 athletes from 49 nations. As a bonus, the United Arab Emirates has agreed to host the MMA World Youth Championships (under 18) for the next three years, between 2022 and 2024.
