A working group to integrate FISO

Things are moving forward at the International Modern Pentathlon Union (UIPM). The body has announced the creation of a seven-person working group to formalize the integration of the Fédération Internationale des Sports d’Obstacles (FISO). The group is headed by UIPM President Klaus Schormann from Germany. The creation of this working group is a further step in a process which began last August with the signing of an agreement between the two parties in Bath, England. Under the terms of the agreement, the UIPM will henceforth supervise show jumping, a logical follow-up to the addition of the discipline to modern pentathlon, replacing equestrian. In addition to Klaus Schormann, the working group includes UIPM vice-president Joël Bouzou, NORCECA confederation president Rob Stull, UIPM secretary general Shiny Fang, FISO president Ian Adamson, Filipino lawyer Alberto Agra and hotelier Panna Utpaul. It will meet for the first time in November.
