
With less than 80 days to go before the opening of the Tokyo Games (D-74 on Monday, May 10th), World Rowing has taken another step in its qualification process for the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games. The international rowing body has completed the qualifying event for Asia and Oceania. It took place in the Japanese capital, on the Games’ venue, the Sea Forest Waterway. Strict Covid-19 prevention measures were imposed during the competition, held behind closed doors. Social distancing rules were respected from the first to the last day. A taste of the living and competiting conditions that await the rowers in less than three months, according to World Rowing. There are still two qualifying events left before the Tokyo Games: the World Olympic Qualifying Regatta in Lucerne, Switzerland, May 15th-17th, and then the World Paralympic Qualifying Regatta in Gavirate, Italy, June 3rd-5th.
