A strategic agreement with China Media Group

Paris 2024 does business with China. Earlier this week, the organizing committee signed a cooperation agreement with the state-owned broadcasting group China Media Group (CMG), which holds the rights to the Games on the Chinese market. The agreement was signed by Shen Haixiong, President of CMG, and Tony Estanguet, his counterpart from the Paris 2024 OCOG (pictured above). The “strategic” agreement aims to strengthen cooperation between the two parties in “the promotion of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and program production.” Shen Haixiong said the CMG Group will send a 2,000-strong team to Paris next year to cover the Games. The group will also be in charge of producing four sports on the Olympic program for OBS: gymnastics, table tennis, badminton and climbing. 2024 will mark the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France. The agreement signed with the OCOG is part of a series of programs dedicated to France by the Chinese group, in the fields of sport, education, cinema and television.
