A seat for two

D-day for the candidates of the Association of European Olympic Committees’ (EOC) presidency. The annual general assembly of the continental body, meeting for two days (June 10th and 11th) in Athens, is due to elect its president and the other members of its board on Thursday. Two men are running for the presidential seat: Denmark’s Niels Nygaard, interim president since the death of Slovenia’s Janez Kocijancic in June 2020, and Greece’s Spyros Capralos. Lithuanian Daina Gudzineviciute is guaranteed to be elected vice-president, being the only candidate. But there are two candidates vying for the post of General Secretary: Raffaele Pagnozzi from Italy and Jozef Liba from Slovakia.
