A sanitary bubble in Torun

The organisers of the next European Indoor Championships, scheduled for 5-7 March 2021 in Torun, Poland, have lifted the veil on the health measures being considered before and during the event. They turn out to be no surprise. “All accredited persons coming from abroad will have to test negative for the coronavirus”, explained Krzysztof Wolsztyński, general manager of Torun 2021. “They will be met at the airport and then taken by special transport to the competition site to undergo a new test. It is only after the negative result of this test that they will be able to come to the hotel. These preventive measures concern everyone: athletes, volunteers, organisers, judges. We do this so that everyone can participate in the competition safely”. On the other hand, the question of the presence of spectators in the indoor stadium in Torun has not yet been decided.
