
Beautiful venue. World Rugby has announced that it has chosen the Opéra Garnier, in the 9th arrondissement of Paris, to host the 23rd World Rugby Awards. The event will take place on Sunday 29 October, the evening after the 2023 World Cup Final at the Stade de France. On the programme will be the presentation of the body’s trophies to the winners in eleven categories, including best player of the year, men’s revelation, coach of the year, men’s try of the year and men’s and women’s rugby 7s player. Note: the winners in the five women’s categories, including best player, revelation and best try, will be revealed and celebrated a few days later, during the following week. The reason: the inaugural edition of World Rugby’s new women’s competition, the WXV, scheduled to run from 13 October to 4 November 2023.
