A positive case at the Stockholm Worlds

Delicate start for the world figure skating championships in Stockholm (March 22-28). On the first day of competition, Monday, March 22nd, the International Skating Union (ISU) announced in a statement that it had registered a case of COVID-19. The identity has not been released, in order to “respect the privacy of the person concerned“, the ISU explained, adding that other participants in the event will be informed of the situation. The skater declared positive will not be allowed to participate in the Worlds. He was placed in quarantine. All those in close contact have been identified and isolated “for further checks and appropriate action taken“. The World Figure Skating Championships continue until the end of the week.
