
A new partner for the Paris 2024 OCOG. It is not French. The organising committee announced on Monday 13 March, on the eve of the symbolic date of D – 500 days before the start of the Games, the arrival of the global group ArcelorMittal as an official partner, the second level of the national marketing programme. The agreement includes ArcelorMittal manufacturing several of the “key symbols” of the Paris 2024 Games: the Olympic and Paralympic torches and cauldrons, as well as the large rings and agitos installed in the host city. They will be produced in recycled steel with a low CO2 footprint. ArcelorMittal is one of the world’s leading steel and mining companies, operating in 60 countries. In 2022, its turnover reached 79.8 billion dollars for a crude steel production of 59 million tons and iron ore production of 45.3 million tons. Its world headquarters are located in Luxembourg. In France, the group currently has 15,300 employees. With this new entrant, Paris 2024 has nine official partners, plus five premium partners, the first level of the pyramid.
