A new reprieve for host cities

Not a surprise. The announcement of the creation of the European Super League pushed the issue of Euro football (June 11 to July 11, 2021) to the background of the discussions of the UEFA executive committee, meeting Monday April 19th in Montreux (Switzerland). The subject was quickly evacuated. And a new deadline, until Friday, April 23rd, has been given to host cities that have not yet presented UEFA with a detailed plan for hosting the public in the stadiums. Dublin, Munich and Bilbao, the three cities threatened with disappearing from the system, can therefore still believe in it. But it is not certain that this new reprieve can change the situation, especially in the current health situation in Europe. Dublin has not made much progress since its announcement earlier this month of an inability to entertain the public. As for Bilbao, it would take a miracle for the Basque city to meet the very strict health requirements imposed by the authorities on time.
