A new motto for the Olympic movement

A page is turning. The 138th Session approved, on Tuesday, July 20th, in Tokyo, a new motto for the Olympic movement. The historical triptych “Faster, higher, stronger” is enriched with a new word, “Together”, supposed to illustrate the need for solidarity during difficult moments. As Thomas Bach explained to the audience: “We have to adapt the motto to our times. The collaborative effort brings faster and better results than working alone. This is an important step in our development, which sends a clear signal.” The new motto will now be “Faster, Higher, Stronger – Together”.
