A new head on the Olympic Committee

The Polish Olympic Committee has undergone a change of leadership. The body has announced the arrival of a new president. Radoslaw Piesiewicz (pictured above), the current president of the Polish Basketball Federation, was elected at the general assembly in Warsaw to replace the former holder of the post, Andrzej Krasnicki, who did not seek a new mandate. Radoslaw Piesiewicz largely beat his only rival, Kewin Rozum, the President of the Polish Sambo Federation, by 138 votes to 24. The new strongman of the Polish Olympic movement promised, in his first speech to the general assembly, “100% change and 100% commitment”. He takes office at an important time for the national sports movement, as Poland is due to host the third edition of the European Games in June and July.
