Casting change at World Athletics. World Athletics has announced the recruitment of a new Director of Communications. He is British. Jamie Fox (photo above), 46, joins the World Athletics headquarters in Monaco at the end of a worldwide selection process organized since last March, with 140 candidates from 19 countries. Known in athletics for having accompanied the British Athletics federation to the Rio 2016 Games, then having been a consultant for Athletics Australia at the Doha Worlds in 2019, Jamie Fox has multiplied his experience in communications and media operations over the last thirteen years, working notably in soccer (West Ham United), cricket (ICC), rugby (Harlequins) and, more recently, F1 with Red Bull Racing. The Briton will take up his post in the final quarter of 2023. His arrival will coincide with the departure of former Australian journalist Nicole Jeffery, head of communications at World Athletics for the past five years, who resigned earlier this year. Maggie Durand, currently Head of Media Relations, will be promoted to Head of Communications following Nicole Jeffery’s departure.
