A new cap for Alistair Brownlee

Casting changes at the Athletes’ Commission of the Association of European Olympic Committees (EOC). An athlete leaves, a triathlete arrives. Britain’s Alistair Brownlee, Olympic triathlon champion in 2012 and 2016, has been elected chairman of the commission, succeeding Estonian discus thrower Gerd Kanter. The election took place during the 7th European Athletes’ Forum and General Assembly in Rome. In addition to the Briton, the EOC Athletes’ Commission will be made up of Slovak archer Alexandra Miskovska-Longova, Serbian pistol shooter Zoruna Arunovic and German kayaker Ronald Rauhe as summer sports representatives, with Estonian biathlete Johanna Taliharm completing the group as winter sports representative. The five members elected in Rome will serve a two-year term. Alistair Brownlee was already a member of the IOC Athletes’ Commission.
