A logo for Rome 2024

The Italians are wasting no time. With a year and a handful of days to go before the event, they have unveiled the official logo (pictured above) for the 2024 European Outdoor Athletics Championships, scheduled for June 7-12 in Rome. It was presented on Friday June 2 in Florence, at the Ridolfi stadium, on the sidelines of the Italian leg of the Diamond League. The European Championships will take place just a few weeks before the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. They will be held at Rome’s Olympic Stadium, in the nearby Foro Italico park, but also on the streets of the Italian capital for the marathon and walking events. This edition of the continental event will mark the 50th anniversary of the 1974 European Athletics Championships held in Rome. It will be the third to be hosted in Italy since the event’s inception, following the inaugural edition in Turin in 1934.
