A half marathon as a legacy of the Games

The legacy of the Tokyo 2020 Games is shaping up to be very athletic. This was evidenced by the organisation last weekend of a half marathon to mark one year after the last Summer Games. Called the “Tokyo Legacy Half Marathon“, it brought together 14,000 runners, including several elite athletes who participated in last year’s Olympic and Paralympic marathons. The course started and ended at the National Stadium, where the Tokyo 2020 Games athletics events and ceremonies were held. The Tokyo Half Marathon will now be held every year in memory of the Games.
