
Professional footballers are not the only ones looking to Saudi Arabia. The Peace and Sport organization will also soon be heading for the Saudi kingdom. It has announced that its first Peace and Sport Forum in the Middle East will be held on October 18 and 19, 2023 in Riyadh, at the Cultural Palace, in partnership with the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SPOC). Its theme: “Sport, a response for peace“. On the program: a series of sessions on the impact of local initiatives, major sporting events, the empowerment of women in sport, as well as a “one-to-one” interview between Didier Drogba, Peace and Sport’s vice-president, and one of the big names in soccer who recently joined the Saudi Arabian league. Peace and Sport has been organizing its international forum for 15 years. Each edition brings together delegates and personalities from 90 countries, including heads of state, champions, Nobel Peace Prize winners, NGOs, companies, sports bodies and UN agencies.
