The elected representatives of the city of Élancourt, in the Yvelines, can breathe. The hill in their town will welcome mountain biking events at the 2024 Paris Games. SOLIDEO (Olympic works delivery company) announced in a press release, Thursday, April 1st, that it had chosen the project manager for the development of the future competition site. This is a group made up of the agency D’ici là (mandated landscaper), EGIS (technical design office), the l’Atelier d’Écologie Urbaine, Bike Solutions (mountain bike expert), and Cimes Event (event expert). A first study phase will precede the start of work, announced for the end of 2022. Delivery of the site to the OCOG is scheduled for the first quarter of 2024. Budget: 10 million euros. The announcement of SOLIDEO puts an end to the beginnings of controversy, the development of Elancourt hill leading to the uprooting of many trees. After the Olympic Games, it will become a vast leisure area for the general public, with mountain biking trails and the creation of numerous facilities.
